Belarus, Pakistan to boost industrial cooperation

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – An important step towards strengthening bilateral relations has been made as Belarus and Pakistan have signed the minutes of the fifth meeting of the Belarusian-Pakistani joint working group on industrial cooperation established within the framework of the joint Belarusian-Pakistani commission for trade and economic cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.

The protocol was signed at the Industry Ministry of Belarus. The document was signed by Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Andrei Kuznetsov and Federal Secretary for Industries and Production of Pakistan Saif Anjum.

Andrei Kuznetsov expressed confidence that the document would become a basis for the implementation of new joint projects and would contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in various industries. This will help both countries to take advantage of the potential of their industrial sectors and increase competitiveness in foreign markets.

Interaction with Pakistan is developing within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Industry Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry of Industries and Production of Pakistan in 2015. Working group meetings are held to consider possible solutions to the most pressing issues related to bilateral relations.

Foreign economic activity of the Industry Ministry’s enterprises with Pakistan is showing positive trends. In 2024 the export grew 18% year on year. Taking into account mutual interest in the development of industrial cooperation, further growth is predicted for 2025.
