Imran Afzal

Mr. Afzal is a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and specializes in the fields of taxation, corporate and accounting consultancy. Mr. Afzal is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He started his career as a trainee student with A.F. Ferguson & Co, Chartered Accountants, a member firm of Price Water House Coopers, and qualified as Chartered Accountant in 1986. He started his own practice under the name and style of Imran & Co, Chartered Accountants, building a spectrum of clientele reflecting small and medium enterprises (SME) representing different sectors of industry. Mr. Afzal joined GTAR as a partner in September 1999 with a profound recognition as a tax consultant both in the industry and the profession.
Mr. Afzal has served following Professional Associations during his professional career:
- Served ICAP as president for the year 2007-2008. He has also served on various committees of the ICAP during the period 2001-2009 including:
- Chairman Professional Standards and Technical Advisory Committee;
- Chairman Investigation Committee;
- Chairman Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee; and
- Chairman Technical Advisory Committee;
- Life member of Lahore Tax Bar Association (LBTA) (1999-2000);
- Board member of Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) for the year (November 2003–August 2010);
- Member of Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee of the FBR; and
- Member of Arbitration Panel/Committee of the Pakistan Stock Exchange
