Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia: Pakistan is keen for partnerships in the IT sector with Russia to build a better future, stated Pakistani Ambassador Mr. Muhammad Khalid Jamali, speaking at the International IT Forum being held in Khanty-Mansiysk on 18 June.
“Pakistan has a thriving IT sector with more than 2,000 companies employing over 300,000 English-speaking IT professionals and 13 software technology parks. Moreover, our universities produce more than 20,000 IT graduates and engineers every year,” the Ambassador said.

In addition, Pakistan has established Special Technology Zones (STZ) to attract investments and bring cutting-edge technology to the country.

Underscoring the importance of responsible innovation, the Ambassador further emphasized the need for establishing ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks to govern the use of technology, ensuring it serves the public good.

Ambassador Jamali called for joint cooperation in the sphere of IT, highlighting its potential as a tool for social welfare and environmental sustainability by revolutionizing critical areas such as education, healthcare, and public services. “We are confident that by working together with our Russian counterparts, we can leverage the IT sector to address social and environmental challenges,” he added.
