K2
is also known as Mount Godwin-Austn in honor of Henry Godwin-Austn, an early explorer of the area. It is the highest point in the Karakoram Range at 28,251 feet and is second only to Mount Everest at 29,029 feet. Also called as Savage Mountain due to the extreme difficulty of ascent. The summit was first tme reached by the Italian limbers in 1954. It is located on Pakistan – China border between Baltstan, Pakistan and Xinjiang, China.
