9th Session of the Pakistani-Russian Intergovernmental Commission of Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation

December 2nd 2024, expert consultations of the Russian-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation were held at Delovaya Rossiya. Industry experts from the two countries gathered to agree on positions on the 9th meeting of the commission.

“I am glad that Delovaya Rossiya, which is in the forefront of intercountry dialogue on establishing trade and economic cooperation with various countries, is today acting as the host of such a significant event. Participation in expert consultations in such a broad composition demonstrates the desire to strengthen interaction between the two countries in various industries and is a significant step in the development of bilateral cooperation between our business and government circles. “I am confident that today’s consultations will contribute to increasing mutual supplies across a wide range of goods and, in general, will give a new impetus to further consolidation of cooperation between Russia and Pakistan,” Nonna Kagramanyan, Vice President and Head of the Executive Committee of Delovaya Rossiya, welcomed the meeting participants.

Deputy Chairperson of the Russian part of the commission, Deputy Director of the Department for Development of Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia Khalimat Budunova noted that Pakistan’s trade turnover with Russia in 2023 reached a record amount of $1 billion. She expressed confidence in the possibility of its further growth. The Russian side sees prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in energy, agriculture, transport, logistics and other areas.

As part of the event, experts from the two countries held consultations in such areas as trade, economic, customs and investment cooperation, financial and banking cooperation, cooperation in industry and business communities, in agriculture, transport, education, science and technology.
