Meeting with Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera – Secretary Commerce

On 11 December 2019, Teams SF & BACP availed the opportunity to meet with Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera – Secretary Commerce, Govt of Pakistan in his office. The Honorable Secretary welcomed and soon disarmed us with his lively presence. Mr Jawad Ur Rehman – President BACP briefed Secretary Commerce regarding his unrelenting efforts to improve Pakistan-Russia trade relations in his humble capacity. Sardar Sukhera updated about the evolving Pak-Russia bilateral relations and the efforts being put in for strengthening the bilateral relations. He also appreciated the initiative and efforts underway by Teams SF & BACP. In the meeting, the issues pertaining to Pak-Russia trade relations remained the focus of the meeting. Mr Jawad ur Rehman is visiting Pakistan as part of the Russian Delegation to attend the Pakistan-Russia Inter Governmental Commission (IGC) on Trade, Economic, scientific and Technical Cooperation. Mr Moeez Ur Rehman – Managing Partner SF, Mr Fazle Qadir – Partner SF and Mr Ahsan Durrani – PTI Youth Wing were present during the meeting and the ensuing interactive discussion. The idea to hold One Country Exhibition (OnCE) of Russian Industry in Pakistan and vice versa during year 2020 was shared by Mr Jawad Ur Rehman. It was well received by the Secretary who encouraged to pursue the idea in collaboration with Trade Representative ex Pakistan Embassy in Moscow. Later, Russian & Pakistani souveneirs were presented to Commerce secretary as a token of gratitude. The cordial meeting ended with a group photo with Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera. Post meeting, Team SF & BACP feel optimistic about Pakistan-Russia relations in the coming days.
